"At that time, I felt that we really had to go home." In front of the TV camera, China citizen Deng Lingling sobbed and recalled. On March 29th, 2015, she and 121 other Yemeni compatriots arrived in Aden Port safely and met the China warship that took them home. On the same day, the first batch of stranded compatriots arrived in Djibouti on the Linyi ship and then quickly flew back to Beijing via Ethiopia. Within 9 days, 629 trapped compatriots were all evacuated safely. 279 foreign citizens from 15 countries, including Pakistani and Ethiopian, were evacuated with the help of China warships.
This episode, which is similar to the hit movie Wolf Warriors 2, is not fiction, but actually happened two years ago. This story was introduced in detail in the six episodes of large-scale political feature film "Diplomacy of Great Powers" which started broadcasting on August 28th. In the past five years, China has successfully organized nine evacuation operations for overseas citizens, handled more than 100 cases of China citizens being kidnapped or attacked abroad, and accepted nearly 300,000 cases of consular protection and assistance. This is the pride and confidence that a big country that practices "diplomacy for the people" brings to its citizens. This also fully demonstrates that since the 18th CPC National Congress, a series of foreign policies formulated by the CPC Central Committee are in line with the fundamental interests of China, the historical development trend, the world direction, and show unique superiority and strong vitality.
