The communique shows that the blue sky defense war has achieved remarkable results. The average concentration of PM10 in 338 cities at prefecture level and above decreased by 22.7% compared with 2013.The average concentration of PM2.5 in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions decreased by 39.6%, 34.3% and 27.7% respectively compared with 2013.,The average concentration of PM2.5 in Beijing dropped from 89.5 μ g/m3 in 2013 to 58 μ g/m3.The air quality improvement objectives and key tasks of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action have been fully completed.
Increase the intensity of water pollution control. The proportion of excellent surface water quality sections in China has been increasing.The proportion of I-III water bodies reached 67.9%, and the proportion of inferior V water bodies decreased to 8.3%.The water quality of the main stream of major rivers has improved steadily.The black and odorous water bodies in the built-up areas of 36 key cities have been basically eliminated.All the 490 environmental problems identified by drinking water sources in cities at the prefecture level and above in the Yangtze River Economic Belt have been cleaned up and rectified.
Central environmental protection inspector solves a large number of environmental problems

Among the 112 important lakes (reservoirs), there are 70 with water quality of I-III, 22 with water quality of IV, 8 with water quality of V, and 12 with water quality worse than V. The main pollution indicators are total phosphorus, chemical oxygen demand and permanganate index.
Water quality in coastal waters,The Bohai Sea is average, the Yellow Sea is good, the water quality in the East China Sea is poor and the water quality in the South China Sea is average.In the important estuaries and bays, compared with 2016, the water quality of Jiaozhou Bay and Minjiang Estuary has improved, the water quality of Yellow River Estuary, Pearl River Estuary and Beibu Gulf has deteriorated, and the water quality of other estuaries and bays has remained basically stable.
